As strong as Italian coffee gets minus the acidic aftertaste is what you are in for when you have your cuppa at Segafredo Zanetti Espresso Cafe, located at the corner of China Square Food Centre (nearer PWC Building).
It was a Friday, and lunch, and we decided to check out one of the few places in Singapore serving marocchino, which is espresso with milk froth and cocoa. It was my first time trying such a concoction, and I was mightily happy with it. With a cup of marocchino, you don't have to be too concerned that the coffee is too watery or milky, it's like coffee packed up with intense goodness and punch. Though it had lesser cocoa than expected, dosing a packet of brown sugar did the trick in balancing the coffee bitterness out.
For lunch, we share a plate of Salsiccia Pomodoro, which is Linguini with Italian sausage cooked in olive oil and topped with strips of sundried tomato, finished with a sprinkling of salad.
It was a simple happy meal, with the coffee the highlight. Yes, I would definitely be back again at this tiny outfit serving up serious Italian coffee.
