Skinny Pizza as healthy as pizza can get

Skinny Pizza started a new trend when it introduced it's paper thin crust pizza to Singapore. Topped with premium ingredients, it became fashionable again to meet up for a pizza. It's industrial chic setting and sexy thin pizzas is a common draw for after work crowd on a Friday night. Most of the pizzas are topped off with rocket salad. and sometimes you wonder if you are having a salad or a pizza. I also particularly like their side dishes of sweet potato and and prawns, offering an alternative nibble when you feel like grazing. Most of the pizzas tastes about the same, so be sure to order wildly different options. Skinny Pizza also does takeaways, perfect for a home party.

My two favorite outlets is at Plaza Singapura and 100AM, perhaps because of the spaciousness of the two outlets.

Amoy Street Food Centre - Cheap lunch eats at Tanjong Pagar

Anyone who works Tanjong Pagar will be familiar with Amoy Street Food Centre. It is where you can still find coffee at 80 cents, and a cheap meal from $3.50 onwards. Though the the disadvantage is the alfesco setting, dare to bear with the heat of the noonday, or do a takeway (tapao) and eat at your office pantry. In fact Amoy Street Food Center has become so popular that even Salad stalls have sprouted up at the center. Getting a salad at $5 onwards is quite a steal, given that most salad bars start from $9 onwards.

Indonesian Food
One of my favorite stalls at Amoy Steet Food Centre is the Indonesian Malay stall called Warung Parsanga. The stir fried vegetables is not overly cooked unlike many Malay stalls and the Malay Soya Sauce Chicken (Ayam Masak Kecap) is so good, it is almost a staple for me once a week.

Fishball Noodles
Recently I had a craving for fish ball noodle, a favorite local dish that can be eaten throughout the day from breakfast to supper. Have it Meepok (flat egg noodle) with chilli and you get to enjoy it authentic style. I thought my friends were kidding me when they said the stall Ah Ter Teochew Fish Ball had a cute hawker. And indeed he was quite an eye candy! You cannot dispute the way the noodles are cooked, it has perfectly bouncy fishballs and sauce that mixed to a perfect concoction. No wonder I always see queues every lunch time!

Duck Rice
One of the better places for duck rice is here at Amoy Food Centre. If you are into duck, the combination of soya sauce rice with egg and preserved vegetables topped off with black sauce and chilli sauce is a the best representation of a good duck rice one could taste in Singapore.

Swissbake - A perfect lunch spot at Tanjong Pagar

Somehow I keep being drawn to Tanjong Pagar for some unknown reason. This is my second time back at Swissbake located at International Plaza, Tanjong Pagar. Perhaps because it is the newest cafe outlet, perhaps because it is cozy enough for a quiet conversation or reading a book.

My initial thought of Swissbake was that it was mostly a premium bread shop. However this cafe outlet at International Plaza proved me wrong.

It serves up a delectable lunch time meal offering salads, yoghurt and sandwiches. Hot meals consist of a delicious portion of Rosti that is accompanied with fresh salad and a meat eg smoked salmon, chicken or sausage. I must say the hot meal is delicious, even better that competitors like Marche and Medz at a very decent price of under $10. You can top up your meal and get a lunch set with soup and coffee for an additional $5.

This a place that's worth a repeat visit because of its decent pricing and certainly a great place to catch up with a friend with a cup of coffee or a meal.
