Mandarin Orchard Triple Three - probably the best buffet on Orchard Road

Mandarin Orchard Triple Three probably has the best buffet in Singapore. I have tried quite a few across town and across the years, and Triple Three remains my favorite, the place with the freshest seafood, and food that is cooked with passion and dedication, despite it being buffet style. The dishes are unique and differently prepared from normal buffet fare, and that's what make the international buffet here special. I was here recently during the Norwegian seafood fare, and boy was the lobster bisque was so flavorful! The sushi and oysters are all prepared before you, in order to maintain the freshness. Here's definitely one place to visit if want to treat yourself to a special meal.

Shin Minori Japanese Buffet at UE Square

You have not completed your induction of buffets in Singapore if you have not explored Japanese buffets. And one good place to give you palate the work out is at Shin Minori Japanese Buffet. The wonderful thing about Japanese buffets in Singapore is that it is usually half the price of the buffets you will find in hotels. Perhaps because the most expensive items on the dish is sashimi, compared to hotel buffets which will also bring in fresh seafood.

Having a Japanese buffet an be a completely healthy meal if you are just loading up on the sashimi and grilled meats. Plus since it is an alar carte buffet, you eyes are not tantalized by the food, and you can just zoom in on what is healthy and good.

Shin Minori is located at UE Square and compared to the other 2 more popular Japanese buffets, this one has a lovely cozy setting. Enjoy your Japanese buffet in the afternoon and you do not have to fight to get attention from the staff.

I particularly like Shin Minori as it does provide fresh sashimi cuts and a wide selection of grilled meats. The way the restaurant is set up does not give the 'buffet' style feeling, which is good, so you do feel so harried in your meal. The only disadvantage is the lack of choices for desserts. In a way it is a good thing as after all desserts are mostly sugar laden.

Blue Garden Korean BBQ almost too amazing BBQ!

I almost did not want to post this and keep it a secret a while longer as I enjoyed the Korean BBQ buffet at Blue Garden, Link Hotel so very much.

I have a group of friends who regularly eats Korean BBQs because they love their meats and all things Korean. Each time we dine we probably spend at least $40 and it's not a buffet. Finally I found a place that meets my budget. Fresh BBQ meats with a combination of non-BBQ food all good for less than $30. That's as perfect as it gets in Singapore if you are looking for a good Korean BBQ place.

The location at Link Hotel is a little challenging to find as it is a good 20 minutes walk from Tiong Bahru MRT. Either take a bus or grab a cab from the MRT station as Link Hotel is located in the older part of Tiong Bahru. Coming here always reminds me of my younger days when I spend my growing up years walking up and down the streets of Tiong Bahru.
