Din Tai Fung does not originally come from Singapore, yet there are so many outlets here, you might even forget this fact. Originally from Taipei, this chain has done extremely well in Singapore, serving up steamed Chinese dumplings by the trays. Each dumpling is fashioned perfectly and if broken, they will actually exchange with a new one. The signature dish is the steamed pork dumpling which is minced pork with soup base. The trick to eat a dumpling is to nip the top and delicately sip up the soup.
Another fantastic dish they have is the fried rice with pork chop. I have not seen any restaurant do fried rice as well as Din Tai Fung does. Considering that they have many outlets in Singapore, I am impressed the standard maintains its consistency. My favorite outlet to dine is at Marina Bay Link Mall as it is quieter than outlets located in town over the weekend.
