One of the frequent scenes at Hoshino Coffee would be the long queues especially during regular meal times. It has entered the already busy coffee scene in Singapore, bringing in the whole Japanese coffee culture concept. One can hardly fault this cafe, apart from having to wait for a seat.
Located at the new wing of Plaza Singapura, Hoshino Coffee has found a great location, as the mall is right at the MRT station Dhoby Ghaut, where there is shopping, dining, and Golden Village movie theater. I have been to Hoshino Coffee twice, and both during off peak hours. I went for breakfast once, and had the coffee (super intense) and soufflé pancake which was thick, airy and just so superb. In my second visit, it was before dinner, sharing a avocado prawn sandwich with my friends. I would not normally come to this sort of cafe and have a sandwich, but I must say it is so well executed, it bears a repeat visit.
