I must have passed by Maccha House many times enroute from Somerset MRT to Centerpoint. And finally one day when I was looking for a quiet spot to work and have a lunch this was a pit stop.
I must say that I like the airiness of this restaurant. It is a pity that the mall does not have free wifi otherwise I would imagine more patrons here enjoying a cup of macha and doing their work at the same time.
I did notice some students taking advantage of the empty venue and parking themselves to mug for their studies. As it was lunch I got to enjoy their lunch set at below $20. It included a chicken ramen with egg and a macha drink. The chicken really came in huge chunks that would have made a bodybuilder really happy. The noodle and soup base was well done though egg was a tad undercooked. Somehow eating Japanese in Japan vs eating Japanese in Singapore is just different. The perfection of cooking even the simplest meal mattered.
Would I come back again? Certainly if I needed a quiet spot to read or have a conversation and also wanted a relatively healthy meal and drinks.
