The usual Singaporean dining affair would be to make a beeline at high tea buffets. For once, out of consideration for the waistline, we went to Axis Bar and Lounge at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Singapore for the high tea set. For the amount you pay per person at a normal high tea buffet, you can save cost and split the tea set between 2 persons. Plus you can eat till you're full. A couple of us shared this tea set and were amazingly stuffed. The great thing about this place is the quiet ambience, the lovely view of the Esplanade and Singapore River, great service, the numerous rounds of tea you can sample, and of course exquisite food. I suppose when food comes to you in bite size portion, you tend to eat slower and enjoy each morsel. Would I come back? Definitely, when I want to get away from the hustle of buffet crowds.
