There are times when you see local business grow and make a brand name for themselves with quality still maintained across the outlets in Singapore. This makes me real proud of them.
QiJi is one such place. Serving up a simple selection of Poh Piah, Nasi Lemak, Mee Siam together with local home made drinks like Chin Chow (great for warm weather), Barley and Soya Milk; it's a outlet I patronise again and again when I wish for a light and inexpensive meal in Singapore. I usually just head for the Poh Piah as its packed with vegetables, eggs, and wrapped in a thin skin of flour, a perfect choice when watching the carbs. They seem to have mastered the art of making Poh Piah, if you can stand the sweetness of the prawn paste. My favourite outlet must be at Marina Square where sitting outside allows you a breather of outside air instead of being enclosed in the mall all day long.
What's more QiJi is a halal certified place which means that dining with Muslim friends is less of a headache.
