I came to get to know of Tomo Izakaya located at Clark Quay when we were giving a friend a birthday treat. It is izakaya dining, reminding me very much of my experience during a winter evening in Narita. Tomo Izakaya is the perfect kind of after work hang out for colleagues who would like to drink and yet not want to go on an empty stomach and be served a wide selection of side dishes Japanese tapas style. There is an option of floor seating and table seating, so since we wanted to try something new, it was floor seating for us.
As we were here for dinner and not drinks, we chose a mix grill set and wagyu beef salad. With the 4 of us, this was not really sufficient, but enough to be filled. I liked the mix grill set as it gave us an option to sample many different items. This came at quite a price, and personally, I wouldn't come all the way here to eat again, since there are other izakayas dining in Singapore. What's great is the extended hours here, so when there is a lot to catch up and you want to stay out late, it is the place to come.
