Chinatown Point - Lerk Thai, great for a quick lunch meal

For the typical Singaporean who loves a little zing to their meals, having Thai on occasions, is almost a necessity. It was Friday when we decided to ditch the usual ta pao to head down to nearby Chinatown Point for a quick lunch meal. With the accessibility of the Blue Downtown MRT line, office professionals from Raffles Place and Tanjong Pagar can now easily zip down to Chinatown Point for a quick bite.

I have developed a fondness for the newly renovated basement of Chinatown Point, and this time we decided to try Lerk Thai. Get a meal from $10 and above. I tried their curry chicken, a mild curry with the most tender chicken that could easily be peeled from the bone. Curry gravy was absolutely delicious, minus the oiliness that you would find in Chinese and Malay curries. It is a tiny outlet, but bright and clean, making having a meal a pleasant experience despite located at the basement of the mall.

Indeed Lerk Thai is perfect for a quick lunch meal, as we had our food within 5 minutes of ordering. My colleagues had green curry chicken and basil chicken rice and everyone was just so happy with their meal.

The Downtown MRT line has made working in Raffles Place a lot more pleasant, as you can easily hop on and off to neighboring malls to get a breather from the stress of work life.
