Once in a while you stumble upon perfectly cozy dining spots right in the heart of central Singapore.
My first time at Halia was at Botanical Gardens, and only recently I got to dine at the Halia Raffles Hotel. The restaurant gives an old British Colonial charm with its dark wood furnishings and set among lush green foliage. Halia specialises in foods infused with ginger, thankfully only for selected items, as I am not a fan of ginger.
The difference between the two outlets? Halia at the Singapore Botanical Gardens is a perfect setting for early morning or afternoon luncheon being able to enjoy the greenery and a post meal walk. Halia at Raffles Hotel is perfect for a quiet, cozy meal with loved ones or with friends. They serve Asian fusion inspired dishes as well as western meals.
At Halia Botanical Gardens, I very much enjoyed the fisherman stew which was a hearty tomato broth filled with fresh seafood. Whereas over at Halia Raffles Hotel a dish I enjoyed was the crab pasta.
